OUR STAFF

Nicholas Donas M.D., P.L.L.C

Dr. Donas graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. from New York University in 1995. From there, he went on to study medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in NY, where he received his medical degree in 1999. In 2003, after completing his residency in Ophthalmology at the Mount Sinai Hospital in NY, Dr. Donas entered private practice… right here!

While working at Rivertown Ophthalmology, Dr. Donas remained on the teaching staff at the Mount Sinai hospital for several years. There, he trained new Ophthalmology residents and lectured to colleagues about new glaucoma and cataract treatments–part of his area of expertise.

In 2007, after getting his professional start as an associate with Dr. Benjamin Liberatore, Dr. Donas became the owner and added the name Rivertown Ophthalmology to the practice. Despite the change in ownership, it has been a continuous practice since 1985. Dr. Liberatore has stayed on as an associate.

Dr. Donas is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist and Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Over the course of his career, he has performed over 6,000 cataract surgeries and has provided care to thousands of patients, treating them for various eye conditions. Dr. Donas can conduct examinations in Greek and Spanish.

FRONT OFFICE

The Rivertown Ophthalmology front office staff plays a large role in making our care personalized for every patient. Our most dedicated employee has been with us for 25 years, so our team is long-term, and they love what they do! Coming from the community, our staff knows most of our patients by name. When you call our office, you won’t get an automated machine – you will speak with one of our caring staff members who are physically present in our Dobbs Ferry office.

Karen Fu, O.D.

Dr. Karen Fu earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry. She completed her clinical training at East New York Diagnostic Treatment Center, Pediatric and Vision Therapy Rehabilitation at SUNY College of Optometry, and New York Vision Group, where she co-managed post-surgical cases with retina, cornea, and glaucoma specialists. She completed her residency with an emphasis in ocular disease and primary care at the Veteran Affairs Hudson Valley Health Care System.

Dr. Fu has also provided eye care services to patients in need in Nicaragua through the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity organization.

Prior to joining our practice, Dr. Fu worked at multiple community health centers in Manhattan and Westchester, providing eye care services to the underprivileged population. She managed patients with glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular disease, and retinal disease, and treated emergency walk-in cases. She consulted with primary care providers, nurses, pediatricians, cardiologists, and social workers to collaborate optimal care for her patients at these community health centers. Dr. Fu is experienced in soft contact lens evaluations, including monofocal, toric, monovision, and multifocal contact lens fittings. Carol A. Lundin, MD

Dr. Lundin was inspired to go into medicine at a young age and chose ophthalmology because her baby brother had received care for a ruptured globe from an excellent ophthalmologist. She earned her medical degree from Upstate Medical Center School of Medicine in Syracuse NY followed by an ophthalmology residency at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital of the Columbia School of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City.

As a board-certified ophthalmologist with over three decades of experience Dr. Lundin believes strongly in treating each patient with the same respect and dignity as a member of her own family. She is devoted to providing excellent care in a comfortable friendly environment.

Dr. Lundin enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and swimming, as well as reading medical and non-medical books. She is also involved in community service, regularly feeding the needy at area homeless shelters.

TESTIMONIALS

WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING

Fabulous Doctor

I enjoy seeing Dr. Donas every year. It feels like a visit with family. Fabulous doctor, great personality, and so kind. The staff is wonderful. Very lucky he practices in Westchester. As they say, the pick of the litter!

Francine M.

“Highly recommended!”

Excellent doctors, excellent practice. They specialize in getting your prescription right, not trying to sell you frames or lenses. You’ll have to go elsewhere for that, but that’s the approach I prefer anyway. Highly recommended!
